Pensions depositing postponed of women whose nationalities withdrawn
The Public Institution for Social Security has started depositing pensions from today for retired citizens registered in its system.
However, Al-Rai learned that this does not include pensions for individuals whose nationalities were withdrawn, such as the wives of Kuwaitis, divorcees, and widows residing in Kuwait, as per Article 8 of the Nationality Law, and whose retirement salaries were announced to continue.
Informed sources explained to Al-Rai that the reason pensions are not being disbursed to this group on the traditional date is that according to the “Insurance” law, the deposit of retirement pensions is limited to eligible citizens and Gulf nationals registered with the institution. They noted that disbursing pensions to those whose nationalities have been withdrawn requires a legislative document approving this change.
The sources indicated that, in accordance with government directives, work is underway to prepare a draft law that will enable the Social Insurance to disburse retirement pensions to the excluded segment soon.
