PAM approves digital transfer of 27,141 workers across sectors
The measure is part of broader efforts to regulate the labor market, ensure compliance with approved guidelines
The Public Authority for Manpower has completed the automatic transfer of residency permits for 27,141 expatriate workers from restricted sectors to other approved sectors, following consent from their original employers.
The process was carried out digitally, eliminating the need for workers to visit the Authority’s headquarters.
This initiative was implemented under the supervision of the concerned Ministry and reflects ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and improve efficiency in labor market procedures.
According to sources, the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector accounted for the largest share of approvals with 16,048 requests, followed by agriculture with 4,460, industry with 3,300, livestock with 3,087, and fisheries sector with 246.
Officials said the measure is part of broader efforts to regulate the labor market, ensure compliance with approved guidelines, and maintain a balanced system that meets economic needs while facilitating legal and organized workforce mobility.
The Authority emphasized that the process was fully automated after employer approval, marking a step toward reducing administrative burdens and enhancing institutional efficiency in managing expatriate labor affairs.
