No flexible working for school principals and supervisors

The Ministry of Education said the work of school principals, their assistants, and department heads is closely tied to the presence of students.

Teachers without a first quota might receive a grace period or flexibility regarding attendance, last class timing, and early departure. This flexibility should not conflict with the school schedule set by the director according to the study plan and work requirements.

Confirming the newspapers report from September 9 titled Start of the Academic Year Without Flexible Working, Mansour Al-Dhafiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education at the Ministry of Education, announced that the ministry will release a detailed bulletin on the implementation of flexible working in schools. He hinted that this will not apply to school supervisory staff and officials, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

Al-Dhafiri explained that the work of school principals, their assistants, and department heads is closely tied to the presence of students. Therefore, allowing any of them to be absent during official school hours is not feasible, as it is illogical. He noted that teachers without a first quota might receive a grace period or flexibility regarding attendance, last class timing, and early departure.

He stressed that this flexibility should not conflict with the school schedule set by the director according to the study plan and work requirements.

In another educational matter, Al-Dhafiri instructed the directors of educational areas, religious education, and technical guidance to standardize exams for middle school students across the first and second semesters, the second term, and any extraordinary roles, emphasizing that this aims to ensure fairness among students.
