Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, the Minister of Education, announced on Monday the referral of nine new corruption cases to the Public Prosecution, as part of continued efforts to enforce accountability and combat violations, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.
In a statement issued by the ministry, Al-Tabtabaei said the cases involve abuse of power for personal gain, facilitating unlawful seizure of public funds, misuse of administrative authority, and providing false information—actions that raise serious corruption concerns and require legal action.
The statement indicated that the ministry is referring all relevant documents and evidence to the judicial authorities to ensure accountability and enable strict legal action.
It also emphasized that activating the Inspection and Audit Office has strengthened internal oversight and helped uncover serious recent financial and administrative violations. The ministry stressed the need to continue addressing such cases with utmost seriousness, while undertaking a comprehensive review of the existing oversight systems.
The statement further noted that appropriate corrective measures are being implemented to prevent the recurrence of violations and to enhance compliance with regulations within the Ministry of Education.
