The US recorded a new record of 52,291 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours whereas Brazil recorded over 48,000 new cases.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the confirmed coronavirus cases in the US reached 2,739,879 whereas over 800 deaths were recorded, bringing the total deaths to 128,740.

Meanwhile, a new US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) forecast predicted that the coronavirus deaths would reach about 148,000 by July 25.

“The state-level ensemble forecasts suggest that the number of new deaths over the next four weeks in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming will likely exceed the number reported over the last four weeks,” the CDC said.

On the other hand, Brazilآ’s health ministry recorded 48,105 new coronavirus cases and 1,252 deaths in the past 24 hours.

This brings the countryآ’s confirmed coronavirus cases to at least 1,496,858 and 61,884 deaths. The US and Brazil rank first and second globally in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths.
