The US recorded over 40,000 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours exceeding 2.5 million cases while Brazil recorded over 38,000 new cases.
According to Johns Hopkins University, 42,597 new coronavirus cases and 500 deaths were recorded across the US in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total cases nationwide to 2,510,151 and at least 125,539 deaths.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s health ministry reported 38,693 new coronavirus cases and 1,109 deaths in the past 24 hours as the country’s total cases reached over 1.3 million and 57,070 recorded deaths.
The US and Brazil rank first and second globally in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths.
