The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has taken six more lives in the kingdom raising the death toll inflicted by the contagion to 79, official spokesperson of the Saudi Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali, speaking at his daily briefing about the pandemic status in the kingdom, said health authorities recorded 493 new infection cases, bringing the whole number of contaminations to 5,862.

Forty-two patients who suffered from infection with the communicable disease recovered said Dr. Abdulaali adding that the whole number of those who recuperated reached 931.

Seventy-one patients continue to receive “intensive medical care,” he elaborated.
