Saudi Arabia suffered 40 more deaths due to infection with the dreaded virus (COVID-19) during the past hours increasing the mortalities caseload in the kingdom to 2,447.

Saudi Ministry of Health on Saturday said in its daily update about the pandemic status locally that the medical authorities recorded up to 2,565 new infection cases, increasing the whole count of contaminations with the bug to 248,416 since its outbreak in the Gulf country.

It put the whole count of recovery cases at 194,218 with 257 new cases. The world has been struggling to cope with the communicable contagion since late last year when China revealed the germ was sickening people in its central regions.

There have been reported “successful” trial tests for some vaccines.
