Saudi Arabia has confirmed 762 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 7,142, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry has also reported another 4 deaths from the novel virus, taking to 87 the Kingdom’s death toll.

Highly-qualified medical teams are visiting densely populated neighborhoods and the intensified COVID-19 screening and expanded tests have resulted in detecting half of the cases announced recently, the ministry added.

Further precautionary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus have been also announced today. The Ministry of Interior has said it is imposing 24-hour curfew in Samtah and Addayer governorates.

The ministry affirmed that such precautionary measures are meant to protect the society and are subject to review, adding that it has noticed very few cases of violation to the curfew thanks to public awareness.
