Nine people suffering from infection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) died in Saudi Arabia in past 24 hours, the official spokesman of the ministry of health said on Wednesday.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Abdulali said in his daily briefing about the pandemic that the death toll rose to 273 and infection cases reached 44,830.

Number of recovery cases increased to 17,622 after recording 2,365 new cases, he said, adding that 147 patients were in critical condition.

Oman: 298 new coronavirus cases

Omani Ministry of Health declared on Wednesday recording 298 new coronavirus infections, raising the tally to 4,019.

The Official Oman News Agency said 89 of the cases were of Omani citizens and 209 others of expatriates.

It added that 1,289 patients have recovered so far, however 17 others succumbed to the ailment and passed away.
