Kingdom’s total infection cases exceed 250,000

Saudi Arabia reported 2,504 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 250,920 cases.

The Ministry of Health said that 39 more died from complications related to COVID-19, taking the mortality tally to 2,486.

There has been a significant increase in the number of recovered cases during the past few days, with the recovery of 3,517 in the last 24 hours. Among the recovered is a 107-year-old woman in Jeddah.

This brings the total number of recovered cases to 197,735, with the recovery rate rising to 78.8 per cent, the ministry said during its daily press conference.

There are 50,699 active cases, including 2,180 critically ill patients under intensive care, a decline of 2.5 per cent in the number of critical cases.

Riyadh topped the list of cities with the highest number of daily reported cases with 178, followed by Jeddah with 177, and Hofuf with 163, indicating a drop in the daily reported cases.
