Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reported 2,476 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 255,825.

The Ministry of Health said that 34 more people have died from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the fatality tally to 2,557.

The number of recovered people have risen to 207,259 during the past 24 hours after registering 4,000 additional recovered cases. There has been an increase in the number of recoveries, with the recovery rate now is 81 percent, the ministry said during its daily press conference.

A total of 37,000 infected patients made full recovery in one week only, while there are 46,009 active cases, including 2,184 critically ill patients under intensive care.

Jeddah registered the highest daily reported cases with 284, followed by Riyadh with 156 and Taif with 143.
