This brings total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 80,185

Saudi Arabia reported 1,644 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 80,185, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the ministry reported 3,531 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 54,553. There are 397 cases in intensive care.

The ministry also confirmed 16 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to 441.

Saudi Arabia has announced that public sector employees can resume work gradually starting Sunday, May 31.

Suspension of Umrah trips remains in effect, the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah has confirmed as the kingdom is heading towards easing restrictions previously imposed to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

Bahrain: 285 new coronavirus infection cases

Bahraini Ministry of Health on Thursday declared recording 285 new infections with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) raising whole cout of the contamination cases since outbreak of the pandemic in the kingdom to 5,295.

The ministry reported recovery of 143 people who had been sickened with the communicable germ.

“Existing cases now amount to 4,667 including 4,558 in stable condition and nine under intensive care,” it said.

Meanwhile, Bahraini Ministry of Justice and Islamic Awqaf declared Friday prayers would resume on June 5, indicating that worshippers would be obliged to adhere to certain terms for their safety. Some Muslim countries had held the weekly prayers but devotees performed the prayers apart.
