The US reported over 18,600 new confirmed coronavirus cases Tuesday and almost 700 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The total coronavirus cases nationwide reached 1,680,913 and 98,913 deaths, the tally showed. This comes as the number of coronavirus cases in 17 states are trending upward, which includes Georgia, Arkansas, California, and Alabama, according to CNN.
New York is the hardest-hit state in the US with 363,836 confirmed cases and 29,302 deaths.
