Indian government said on Monday that 708 people succumbed to coronavirus (COVID-19) as 49,931 cases were uncovered nationwide in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that the death toll so far due to coronavirus stands at 32,771 while the total positive cases in the country jumped to 1.43 million.
So far, 917,568 people have recovered from the deadly pandemic as it hit 35 Indian states and many regions have started reimposing lockdown.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam and Bihar are among the worst affected Indian states.
