Indian authorities said on Tuesday that 467 people succumbed to coronavirus infection as 22,252 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from across the country in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that the COVID-19 death toll climbed to 20,160 so far while the overall positive cases stood at 719,665.
According to the ministry, data there are 259,557 active cases and 439,948 people have recovered from the deadly disease.
The government has asked people, governments and local authorities to take all necessary precautions as the nation entered into the second phase of unlocking adding guidelines in the containment zones should be followed strictly.
