New Kuwait hospital in Basra marks milestone in fraternal Kuwait-Iraq ties

He also noted that it reflects Kuwait’s steadfast commitment to fostering cooperation and joint efforts with its Iraqi counterparts, according to Al Jarida newspaper.
The First Deputy, accompanied by the Iraqi Minister of Health, Dr. Salih Mahdi Muttalib Al-Hasnawi, the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al Eidani, and several leaders from both countries, attended the hospital’s inauguration on Wednesday.
During the event, he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh MeshalAl-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to the leadership and people of Iraq. He expressed his happiness at being among his Iraqi brothers and highlighted the strong ties between the two nations.
He praised the fruitful cooperation between Kuwaiti and Iraqi authorities, which made this project a reality, and emphasized that several future projects are planned between the two countries.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef also extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the completion of this medical institution, commending their efforts as a true embodiment of solidarity and constructive collaboration.
It is noteworthy that the Kuwait Surgical Government Hospital in Basra, Iraq, is a grant from Kuwait to the brotherly Iraqi people. The hospital includes wards for male and female patients, operating rooms, an endoscopic treatment center, an internal surgery center, a laparoscopic surgery center, a laser surgery center, an intensive care unit, and an accident and emergency lounge equipped with the latest medical devices.
The First Deputy arrived in Basra earlier on Monday, where he was received by the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al Eidani.
