Five Bangladeshis Arrested for Selling E-Cigarettes to School Students

Kuwait’s General Department of Criminal Investigation has arrested five Bangladeshi expatriates for allegedly selling electronic cigarettes to school students through an unlicensed grocery operating inside a house in the Saad Al-Abdullah area.
The arrest followed information received by security authorities about a grocery near a school that was reportedly selling electronic cigarettes to juveniles. After verifying the information, security officers conducted investigations and monitored the suspects’ activities, including how they received orders, prepared the products and arranged deliveries.
The first suspect was arrested outside the house while allegedly selling electronic cigarettes to school students. A subsequent search of the premises led to the arrest of the remaining suspects.
During the operation, officers seized 13 large boxes and 23 small boxes of electronic cigarettes, along with 219 small packets of tobacco and KD 1,722 believed to be proceeds from the sales.
Investigations revealed that the suspects were operating the grocery collectively, with each assigned specific responsibilities, including supervision, handling operations, collecting payments, receiving orders by phone, preparing products and delivering them to customers. The five suspects and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.
