Municipality’s Monday session will hold key resolution of “Jahra Corniche”
The Municipal Council will hold its regular session next Monday, with a busy schedule of topics, including nine items, headed by the item of incoming messages regarding the Jahra Waterfront Project, known as the “Jahra Corniche”.
This is a vital economic project awaiting final approvals to begin marketing it, which will provide about 25,000 job opportunities and constitute a qualitative shift, keeping pace with Kuwait’s direction in achieving Vision 2035.
The Jahra Corniche is one of the projects that the government is excited to launch, as it will change the Jahra seafront, which has waited for years to develop, and will provide a touristic front for the largest governorate in Kuwait.
The Council will then move, in the session to be chaired by Abdullah Al-Mahri, to the members’ responses, most notably considering the response to the question of member Munira Al-Amir regarding the development and service projects of Al-Jahra Governorate, to clarify its current and future position, and responding to the question of member Walid Al-Dagher regarding the towers of telecommunications companies.
Pertaining to The Tent market in Jahra, the Municipality confirmed, in response to a question from member M. Munira Al-Amir, regarding the development and service projects of Jahra Governorate, to clarify its current and future position, that there are 3 development projects that will enter into force within the next five years, which are, Jahra Corniche, Al-Khayam Market, Friday Market and Birds Market.
She explained that the tent market is being studied for the bids submitted for its implementation, while the Jahra Corniche project will be a 7-year period granted to the investor for design and implementation, and a 35-year period for its operation, management and maintenance.
In the following item, the Council will discuss the minutes of the third and fourth meetings of the Objections and Complaints Committee of the third session of the thirteenth legislative term, regarding a number of complaints submitted by citizens, including a complaint submitted by some residents of the Adailiya area regarding the construction of secondary power stations in the area.
The Council is scheduled to review the minutes of the seventh meeting of the Capital Governorate Committee of the third session of the thirteenth legislative term, held on the 21st of this month.
This meeting was about the Ministry of Justice’s request to reallocate the site of the Constitutional Court and the Capital Markets Court in the Granada area, the request of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters to add the activity of a specialized training institute for teaching handicrafts and engravings related to Sadu in the Sadu House.
The request also included the proposal submitted by member Fahad Al-Abduljader, related to increasing the number of multi-storey parking spaces in the Amiri Hospital, and the proposal submitted by member Abdullah Al-Mahri regarding extending the service street parallel to Street No. 85 in the Al-Shamiya area.
The agenda items also included the minutes of the tenth meeting of the Technical Committee held on the 22nd of this month, and the minutes of the second meeting of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Committee held on the 23rd of this month.
These were related to the Cabinet’s decision regarding the report of the Government Performance Follow-up Agency concerning the provision of strategic storage areas to establish warehouses and depots for food storage purposes and others in the Adan and Mubarak Al-Kabeer areas, having an area of 1,000 square meters.
Among the members’ proposals included on the agenda of next Monday’s session, for which the members received the invitation, is the proposal of member Fahad Al-Abduljader regarding the allocation of the zoo.
Furthermore, it also included the proposal of Walid Al-Dagher regarding the creation of an entrance to Al-Mutlaa City, the proposal of Fahad Al-Khunin regarding the displacement of the street in plot No. 1 in the Abu Halifa area, and the proposal of member Hassan Kamal regarding allowing the licensing of the headquarters of the charities in investment buildings. There remains the item of any new business that enables the council to open the urgent topics that it wishes to discuss.
