Municipality sets September deadline for bids on Abdullah Al-Ahmad Cultural Center project
Plans are underway to transform the Capital into a regional tourism and financial hub

Kuwait Municipality has announced that technical bids for the educational, cultural, and entertainment center on Abdullah Al-Ahmad Street will be accepted starting September.
The bidding process, according to Al-Jarida daily, follows amendments to the tender documents, made in response to investor feedback to reduce risk and enhance investment appeal. The project is expected to be awarded in 2026 after all requirements are finalized with qualified companies.
At the second preliminary meeting, attended by three pre-qualified investors, Deputy Director General Eng. Maisa Boushehri emphasized that the project supports Kuwait’s Vision 2035 and aims to transform the capital into a regional tourism and financial hub. The center will combine cultural, educational, entertainment, and commercial functions — featuring a high-rise business and hotel tower (40+ floors), an 11-floor mall, and a large parking facility, all connected by bridges with dedicated bike paths.
Project Manager Eng. Mishari Al-Enezi stated the development will cover 57,000 square meters across three plots and is part of the second phase of the Heritage Village project, which links Souq Sharq to Mubarakiya.
The public-private partnership marks a new model for municipal development, with a 5-year design and construction period followed by a 35-year operational term.
Separately, the Capital Municipal Council approved the renewal of land allocation for a Family Court project in Granada, with amended parking boundaries to avoid overlap with Jahra Road.
