MOI urges drivers to follow trailer and towing safety rules
Ministry of Interior has urged motorists to comply with all regulations governing vehicles designed for towing trailers and marine vessels, stressing that violations could lead to vehicle impoundment and legal penalties.
In a statement, the ministry said drivers must ensure that all lighting systems on towing vehicles and trailers are functioning properly, while also adhering to the maximum speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour and remaining in the right lane while driving.
Authorities added that vehicles used for towing must be equipped with all required safety tools and reflective warning tape to enhance visibility and reduce traffic risks, particularly on highways and during nighttime driving.
The ministry also emphasized that it is strictly prohibited to tow more than one marine vessel behind a vehicle, warning that violations would result in the impoundment of both the towing vehicle and trailer for 60 days under Article 207 of the Executive Traffic Regulations.
Officials said the measures are part of broader efforts to improve road safety, reduce accidents involving trailers and marine transport equipment, and ensure that motorists comply with traffic laws and technical safety standards.
The Interior Ministry continues to call on drivers to follow traffic instructions and safety requirements to protect road users and maintain smooth traffic flow across the country.
