Ministry offers full support to media professionals for ‘Nation 2024’ election coverage

Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture, said the ministry set up a media center for global journalists, fostering transparent election coverage and showcasing Kuwait's democracy.

Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture, emphasized the commitment to support media professionals during the Nation 2024 event, offering resources and facilities to enhance their coverage, including access to the ministry’s media center and valuable data for their duties.

Minister Al-Mutairi informed Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during the inauguration of the media center accompanying the National Assembly elections. The ministry established this center to serve journalists and media professionals from inside and outside Kuwait. He expressed the ministry’s eagerness to host numerous media professionals and journalists from around the world. This was aimed at accurately portraying the progress of the electoral process in a transparent manner to their respective countries and acquainting them with Kuwait’s democratic process.

Following the center’s opening, Minister Al-Mutairitoured the Kuwait TV and radio studios, where he observed their preparedness and full readiness to cover this democratic event in a manner that reflects the legacy and professionalism of the Kuwaiti media.

Badr Al-Tararwa, Assistant Undersecretary for the Foreign Media Sector, mentioned that the Ministry of Information is leading intensive efforts to provide comprehensive, multilingual coverage of the upcoming 2024 National Assembly elections scheduled for Thursday.

Al-Tararwa added that an integrated media center has been established, providing all necessary services to media guests and journalists. This includes preparing schedules for field visits, creating introductory publications for the event, and strengthening cooperation with relevant state institutions to ensure the provision of accurate and comprehensive information.

He explained that the media center is hosting 57 media professionals from various countries worldwide, with a focus on overcoming all difficulties to ensure successful and distinguished media coverage. Media professionals will benefit from a wide range of resources, including specialized news bulletins covering election news in different languages. This reflects Kuwait’s commitment to transparency and international communication.
