Ministry of Electricity and Water collects 324.3 million dinars in revenue in 8 months
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has achieved revenues of 324.34 million dinars from April to December 2023, according to sources in the ministry. The revenues for December alone reached 28.73 million dinars.
The sources explained that the revenues were generated from providing electricity and water services to customers and were collected through the customer service offices in all governorates and the electronic services provided by the Customer Affairs Sector to facilitate transactions for citizens and residents.
The Customer Affairs Sector provides 17 services, including 10 related to bills, such as electronic payment, requesting payment of a utility or building bill, paying installments of debt, and other services. In addition, there are 7 other services, including meter services, such as registering a meter in the name of a new customer, canceling the registration of a meter for leaving the utility, paying and refunding a meter deposit, and other services.
The sources said that the ministry is keen to achieve full digital transformation of all its services, in implementation of the directives of the Council of Ministers, especially the Customer Affairs Sector, to facilitate for customers, especially in new and remote areas, and to collect the due revenues for electricity and water consumption without delay.
The keenness of the Customer Affairs Sector is evident to achieve the largest share of the estimated revenues in the current fiscal year budget during the next 4 months.
