Indian man admits ‘dumping’ compatriot’s remains in garbage container

. . . held for questioning as Criminal Evidences Department awaits Forensic report on the cause of death

An Indian man has been detained for interrogation after the body of his compatriot was found inside a garbage container, with investigators working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

After the Ministry of Interior received a report on the corpse in garbage container, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department took possession of the corpse, they found no identification documents and the body was referred to Forensics Department for identification and to determine the cause of death.

Subsequent investigations established the deceased’s identity and revealed that he was living in a room near where the remains were found. Further inquiries led to the detention of an Indian man who reportedly confessed to ‘dumping’ his compatriot’s body in the garbage container, reports Al-Anba

A security source said the suspect has denied responsibility for the death, claiming that the deceased had taken medication beforehand and that he believed this had caused his death. He reportedly told investigators that he feared being held responsible and therefore decided to move the body.

The case has been registered as a suspected criminal death, and investigations are continuing. Authorities are awaiting the forensic report to determine the actual cause of death and establish the full circumstances of the incident.
