Mexico, Kuwait seek new horizons for bilateral partnership, reaffirms commitment to strengthening ties

Mexican Ambassador to Kuwait H.H. Eduardo Patricio Peña Haller has expressed his country’s appreciation for Kuwait’s historic role in promoting stability in the Middle East and its constructive efforts to support dialogue, the peaceful settlement of disputes and international cooperation.

On the occasion of marking Mexico’s 216th Independence Day, Haller affirmed Mexico’s commitment to further strengthening friendship, mutual respect and cooperation with Kuwait while exploring new avenues for partnership that serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

He said Mexican-Kuwaiti relations are built on solid foundations of mutual respect, constructive dialogue and a shared commitment to international cooperation. Haller said Mexico particularly values Kuwait’s regional and international role, especially its support for dialogue and peaceful dispute settlement and its commitment to international cooperation.

He described Kuwait as a model for pursuing dialogue and multilateral action and expressed hope that peace and prosperity would return to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The ambassador noted that Mexico and Kuwait share a common vision centered on dialogue, cooperation and respect for international law.

The Mexican envoybpointed to continued coordination between the two countries at the United Nations and other multilateral forums in support of peace, sustainable development, respect for international law and stronger multilateral action.

Haller conveyed Mexico’s appreciation to the government and people of Kuwait for their friendship, support and continued hospitality, while praising the welcome extended to the Mexican community in Kuwait.

Diplomatic relations between Mexico and Kuwait were established in 1975 and have steadily developed over the past five decades across political, economic and cultural fields, alongside growing exchanges between the two peoples.

New avenues for cooperation

Looking ahead, Haller said the next phase offers promising opportunities to deepen the partnership by expanding cooperation and making use of the capabilities available to both sides.

Beyond political and economic ties, he identified education, culture, tourism, renewable energy, innovation and youth development as areas with potential for expanded cooperation, along with stronger institutional exchanges between the two countries.

The embassy also emphasized the importance of continued cultural and people-to-people exchanges as an important means of building greater understanding and strengthening the longstanding friendship between Mexico and Kuwait.
