Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem said the ministry is operating at full capacity and using all available resources to ensure the continuity of electricity and water production.

The minister made the remarks during an inspection visit to the site of the accident at one of the power and water desalination plants on Saturday, and saw firsthand response efforts and the technical measures taken to address the incident.

The Ministry said in a statement that Al-Mukhaizeem, accompanied by Undersecretary Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, was briefed on the efforts of emergency teams working in coordination with the Kuwait Fire Force and security authorities.

The ministry said the teams brought the fire under control in approximately six hours as the technical teams continue to assess the damage and begin rehabilitation work.

Al-Mukhaizeem said work will continue until repairs are completed and the damaged units are returned to service in line with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
