Cocaine, hashish and 3,500 Lyrica capsules, firearm seized from Kuwaiti in major drug bust
The General Administration for Drug Control has arrested a citizen accused of possessing narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, a firearm and ammunition with the intention of trafficking, the Ministry of Interior said.
The arrest followed investigations that confirmed the suspect was allegedly in possession of the seized materials for trafficking. He was arrested inside a stable he had rented in the Farwaniya stables area, while search procedures also covered another location in Abdullah Al-Mubarak.
Authorities said the searches resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of hashish, 3,500 capsules of Lyrica, 1,000 sheets soaked in synthetic cannabinoids and 50 grams of methamphetamine. A handgun, a quantity of ammunition and four precision scales were also seized.
The suspect and the seized items were referred to the competent authority for legal action. Authorities also found that the stable had been rented and used in violation of its designated purpose. The property owner is being summoned for interrogation, while the competent authority is being contacted to take measures to withdraw the stable.
The Ministry of Interior said any property proven to have been used for a purpose other than that for which it was designated will be withdrawn, with necessary measures taken against violators.
