Cassation puts former MP Al-Dahoum behind bars for one year
The Court of Cassation has sentenced former MP Bader Al-Dahoum to one year in prison with hard labor for insulting judges of the Constitutional Court during an election rally.
The ruling overturned the Criminal Court’s earlier sentence, which had imposed one year in prison with the sentence suspended, along with a 5,000-dinar bail and an order to delete Al-Dahoum’s personal account on the X platform.
The case relates to statements Al-Dahoum made during an election rally that were deemed insulting to judges of the Constitutional Court.
