Lebanese Embassy holds its first diwaniya of 2024

Lebanese Embassy in Kuwait hosted its first diplomatic gathering of the year on Sunday, welcoming members of diplomatic missions, representatives of regional and international organizations, members of the Lebanese community, and prominent social figures from Kuwaiti society.

Charge d’Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy Ahmed Arafa emphasized the deep fraternal and historical ties between Lebanon and Kuwait on both the popular and official levels.

He highlighted the depth of cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Arafa pointed out the close convergence of visions and positions between the two countries on various issues.

He praised Kuwait’s initiatives and its firm humanitarian imprints in the field of charity and relief work, as well as its continuous support for sisterly and friendly countries.

Arafa expressed his appreciation to the Kuwaiti people for their unwavering support and solidarity with Lebanon. He described the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations and hoped that Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations would serve as a model to be emulated.

Arafa noted that the gathering marked the third diplomatic diwaniya since its inception and the first in 2024.

He described it as an opportunity to connect and exchange views with attendees on various matters, as well as to foster cultural exchange.

He conveyed his delight at the large turnout and the presence of friends and brothers from different nationalities, especially from Kuwaiti society. He said it reflected the position of Lebanon and its people in the hearts of the Kuwaiti people, the countries of the region, and the world at large.

Arafa emphasized that Kuwait and Lebanon are one heart, and that Lebanon is known as a meeting place for loved ones and friends, a melting pot of cultures and nationalities, and a point of convergence for civilizations. He added that the idea of the diwaniya was inspired by the Kuwaiti diwaniya, which is an integral part of authentic Kuwaiti heritage and history, with some Lebanese touches and atmosphere.

Arab and foreign diplomats expressed their happiness at attending the Lebanese diplomatic diwaniya, praising the hospitality and warm welcome.
