Kuwait’s Palace of Justice opens first phase, setting regional record
The first phase, covering 210,000 square meters with 68 courtrooms, including six media halls, marks a significant step towards achieving Kuwait Vision 2035, New Kuwait, and modernizing the country’s judicial infrastructure.

The first phase of the new Palace of Justice, one of Kuwait’s key development projects and the largest judicial complex in the Middle East, has been inaugurated, Al Rai newspaper reported.
This pioneering project marks a significant step towardsachieving Kuwait Vision 2035, New Kuwait, and modernizing the country’s judicial infrastructure.
The judicial complex was fully designed by a Kuwaiti consultancy, the Arab Engineering Consulting Office, which ensured a creative vision inspired by national identity while adhering to international standards.
Implementation began in the first quarter of 2019, achieving record completion rates through the latest fast track construction methodologies. The first phase spans approximately 210,000 square meters and includes 68 courtrooms, six of which are large media halls. It also features 184,000 square meters of office and support spaces, designed to meet all safety and security requirements while ensuring the necessary separation of movement paths for building users.
Recognized globally and regionally for its unique and distinguished design, the project has earned numerous prestigious awards. At the MEED Projects Awards 2024, it won Project of the Year for the Middle East and North Africa, Building of the Year at the national level in Kuwait, and the Regional Winner Award.
