Eng. Noora Suleiman Al Fassam, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, submitted the state’s draft general budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year to the Council of Ministers during an extraordinary session last Sunday for discussion and approval.

The budget allocates funds for 69 projects under ministries and government departments, 21 projects for affiliated bodies, and 34 projects for independent institutions, ensuring financial provisions for major and ongoing developments.

Al-Fassam said, “In recent years, no more than ten new projects have been included at the budget level. However, next year, this number will increase to 90 new projects across ministries and affiliated bodies, with a total cost of 1.7 billion dinars allocated over the course of the projects.”

She noted that the annual budget includes capital expenditure with a financial allocation of 1.9 billion dinars, distributed as follows: 1.5 billion dinars for ministries, 118 million dinars for affiliated bodies, and 253 million dinars for independent institutions.

It is worth noting that government entities can begin implementing these new projects starting April 1, as all financial and technical requirements have been secured to ensure their efficient completion alongside ongoing projects.
