Kuwaitization of coop supply branch managers is not simply to fill vacant positions

Kuwait has begun Kuwaitization of Supply Branch Manager positions in 12 cooperative societies as part of a broader plan to increase the participation of national talents in the cooperative sector and create more job opportunities for citizens.
Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah announced that the position has been Kuwaitized in the 12 societies as part of a plan to eventually extend the policy to all cooperative societies.
Kuwaitization Plan to Expand
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday, Al-Huwailah said the Ministry of Social Affairs is directly monitoring implementation of the plan according to specific stages designed to increase the participation of qualified Kuwaiti talents in the cooperative sector.
She said the completion of Kuwaitization in the 12 cooperative societies represents one stage of a comprehensive plan that will continue to cover the remaining societies.
The minister stressed that the process will follow the established conditions and regulations for the position, with priority given to qualified Kuwaiti candidates.
More Cooperative Sector Vacancies Expected
Al-Huwailah revealed that more job vacancies in cooperative societies will be announced in the coming period after completing an inventory of available positions and the necessary regulatory procedures.
She stressed that the ministry will continue its policy of empowering Kuwaiti national cadres in supervisory and support positions across the cooperative sector.
Focus on Building National Expertise
The minister emphasized that the Kuwaitization plan is not simply aimed at filling vacant positions. Instead, she said, it seeks to build qualified national cadres capable of assuming responsibility, contributing to the development of cooperative work and improving its efficiency.
She added that strengthening Kuwaiti participation in the sector would ultimately contribute to improving the quality of services provided to shareholders and consumers.
The Ministry of Social Affairs had announced on July 28 the immediate start of Kuwaitization of the Supply Branch Manager position as part of support jobs in cooperative societies, giving qualified Kuwaiti candidates priority in nomination and appointment procedures.
