Malawi Ambassador Visits The Times Kuwait
H.E. Younos Abdul Karim, Ambassador of Malawi to Kuwait, visited the offices of The Times Kuwait, accompanied by Jonah Pankuku, Deputy Head of Mission.
During the visit, the Ambassador met with Editor-in-Chief Tareq Yusuf Al-Shumaimry and Executive Managing Editor Reaven D’Souza. The meeting provided an opportunity for a fruitful exchange of views on matters of mutual interest, including Kuwait–Malawi relations, community affairs, media cooperation, tourism and opportunities to strengthen people-to-people connections.
Discussions also touched on Malawi’s tourism potential, with its diverse natural attractions, wildlife, scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage offering opportunities for greater engagement with visitors from Kuwait and the wider Gulf region. The importance of greater awareness and visibility of Malawi as a tourism destination was also highlighted, particularly through media platforms that can help introduce the country’s attractions and investment opportunities to a wider audience.
The Ambassador and the Times Kuwait team also exchanged views on the important role of the media in promoting greater understanding between countries and communities, highlighting how positive stories and greater public awareness can contribute to stronger bilateral ties.
The Times Kuwait team welcomed the Ambassador and appreciated the visit and the constructive exchange of perspectives. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing interest in maintaining communication and exploring opportunities for greater engagement and cooperation in the future.
