Kuwaiti women unite to support children of Gaza

The “Bazaar of Goodness” – which features over 60 embassies and 40 Kuwaiti companies offering diverse products – serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of compassion, solidarity, and humanity in times of hardship.

The “Bazaar of Goodness,” an international charity bazaar, opened its doors on Monday at the prestigious Al-Barakah Hall within the Crowne Plaza Hotel, heralding a momentous occasion aimed at supporting the children of the Gaza Strip.

Spearheaded by International Diplomatic Club and graciously patronized by Sheikha Rima Al-Sabah, the esteemed wife of former Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah.

A global show of solidarity

The bazaar showcases over 60 participating embassies and 40 Kuwaiti companies, presenting a diverse array of products from around the world. All proceeds from the sales will support children in Gaza through the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

A personal touch

The bazaar holds a profound significance for the women participating, a considerable number of whom are mothers themselves.

Ghada Shoukry, President of the International Diplomatic Club and wife of the Egyptian ambassador, Osama Shaltout, underscored the significance of the event, emphasizing the participation of numerous embassies, companies, and individuals. She conveyed gratitude to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society for their collaboration and backing.

Reema Al-Khalidi, Vice President of the International Diplomatic Club and Chair of the Charity Bazaar and wife of the Palestinian ambassador, Rami Tahboub, commended Sheikha Rima Al-Sabah’s initiative and extended gratitude to the Kuwaiti government and people for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause.

Sahar Al-Rifai, representing the wives of Kuwaiti ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed hope that the bazaar would evolve into an annual event supporting diverse causes worldwide.

Maha Al-Barjas, a member of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, highlighted the urgent need for support for the children of Gaza, emphasizing the devastating impact of the recent Israeli aggression on the healthcare sector.

Kuwaits leading role in humanitarian aid

The Bazaar of Goodness stands as a powerful testament to Kuwait’s enduring dedication to humanitarian assistance

Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Aun, Director General of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, commended the collaboration between the society and the International Diplomatic Club, stressing the significance of volunteerism in humanitarian endeavors. He underscored the continuous efforts to deliver aid to Gaza, notably through the setup of a field hospital and a mobile clinic.

Zubaydullo Zubaidov, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and ambassador of Tajikistan, hailed the bazaar as the most impactful initiative of the year in supporting the Palestinian people. He denounced the Israeli aggression and urged for an immediate ceasefire.

Ahmad Arafa, the Chargé d’Affaires of Lebanon, lauded the endeavors of the International Diplomatic Club and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. He hailed Kuwait’s pivotal role in humanitarian efforts, reminiscing about the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad’s esteemed title as the “Amir of Humanity.”

Sheikha  Intesar Al Sabah, a member of the organizing committee, commended the involvement of embassies and companies in the bazaar, stressing the significance of diplomatic initiatives in promoting awareness about the challenges faced by the Palestinian people.

Faisal Al-Fayez, the visiting President of the Jordanian Senate, characterized the substantial turnout as a reflection of people’s solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He underscored the deep-rooted connections between the people of Jordan and Gaza, and underscored the ramifications of the situation in Gaza on Jordan.
