Kuwait signs major contracts with Turkish firm Limak to complete Terminal T2

Three government agencies have signed contracts with Limak, a Turkish conglomerate, to complete the final stages of the new passenger terminal project (T2) at the Kuwait International Airport.
The signing ceremony, held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, marks a significant step in Kuwait’s efforts to accelerate major development projects and complete one of the country’s most strategic infrastructure ventures.
The T2 terminal project is considered a key pillar in plans to modernize infrastructure and strengthen Kuwait’s aviation sector in line with the latest international standards.
The ceremony was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mashaal Al-Sabah, and senior government officials and project stakeholders.
The new airport terminal is expected to significantly increase the operational capacity of Kuwait International Airport while enhancing passenger services, improving travel experiences, and strengthening cargo and logistics capabilities. Officials said the project will support trade, tourism and investment growth across Kuwait.
The authorities also described the project as a major advancement for Kuwait’s civil aviation sector, reinforcing the country’s ambitions to become a regional hub for air transport and logistics connectivity.
The development is also expected to contribute to economic diversification efforts, attract foreign investment and create new job opportunities, further supporting Kuwait’s long-term vision for sustainable development and modern infrastructure expansion.
