Kuwait sets aside 383 million dinars to revitalize road infrastructure

The Al-Salmi Road contract was awarded to the company that submitted an offer of 22.8 million dinars, reflecting a 14% increase.

Sources within the Ministry of Public Works disclosed that the review of bids for final road maintenance contracts, conducted during a negotiation session between the Ministry and the Central Public Tenders Organization, identified companies with the lowest prices that met the specified requirements. The total value of these contracts was reported to be 383,242,114 dinars, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

Sources in the Ministry of Public Works revealed that the results of the disserval of the offers of final road maintenance contracts, which took place during the negotiation session between the “Works” and the Central Public Tenders Organisation and between the contracting companies competing for those practises, concluded that the companies with the lowest prices and meet the specifications and conditions set for those practises, indicating that the total value of those contracts was 383.24 million dinars, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

The sources indicated to the newspaper that the Al-Salmi Road contract was awarded to the company that submitted an offer of 22.8 million dinars, reflecting a 14% increase.

The contract for the sixth and seventh roads was won by a company that offered 18.24 million dinars, also showing a 14% increase. The largest increase was observed in the boys’ road contract, valued at 14.57 million dinars, which marked a 26.70% increase. Conversely, the Al-Ahmadi’ssecond scale contract was awarded at a rate lower than the estimate, with a negative adjustment of 21.61%, resulting in a contract value of 26.24 million dinars.

Sources emphasized that these prices are still being studied by the Central Agency for Public Tenders and are not yet considered final. There is another stage for reviewing all complaints related to these practices submitted by companies before the approval of the law.
