Kuwait records 49,882 traffic violations in just eight days
47 individuals were placed in precautionary detention, 15 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and 35 wanted persons were arrested in the first eight days of this month.

The General Traffic Department and the General Department of Rescue Police recorded 49,882 traffic violations in the first eight days of this month, the Al Rai newspaper reported.
According to statistics from the General Traffic Department, from February 8–14, authorities seized 46 vehicles and 96 motorcycles for rule violations. Additionally, 47 individuals were placed in precautionary detention, 15 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and 35 wanted persons were arrested. During the same period, 30 vehicles were reported stolen, two individuals were arrested in an abnormal condition, and others were detained without identification.

The General Traffic Department affirmed its continued efforts to apprehend violators and ensure road safety, urging the public to adhere to traffic laws to protect lives and property.
According to statistics from the General Department of Emergency Police, between February 9 and 15, 2025, authorities arrested 149 wanted individuals and referred 23 people to the Anti-Narcotics Department as part of ongoing security and traffic campaigns aimed at maintaining public safety.
Among those arrested, 149 were wanted for absconding, expired residency, or criminal sentences, while 33 individuals were detained without identification. Additionally, 23 suspects were referred to the Anti-Narcotics Department for alleged possession of narcotics and intoxicants, and eight were arrested with substances suspected to be alcoholic. Authorities also seized 72 vehicles wanted in civil cases.
The Emergency Police responded to 345 humanitarian cases, intervened in 13 disputes, detained those involved, and handled two reports of suspicious activity. They also recorded 178 traffic accidents and three run-over incidents. On the traffic front, one vehicle was impounded.
