Kuwait real estate auctions generate 9.63 million dinars in September

Real estate auctions conducted by the Execution Department at Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice generated 9.63 million dinars from the sale of 18 properties during September, with final prices exceeding opening valuations by 11.23 percent. The 18 properties were sold for a combined 9.63 million dinars, compared with opening prices of 8.66 million dinars, indicating additional value of nearly 970,000 dinars generated through auction competition.

Some properties attracted significantly stronger bidding, with final prices rising by more than 28 percent over their initial levels, highlighting continued demand for selected assets offered through judicial auctions. A total of 67 properties were listed in the September auction sessions. However, 42 properties were postponed, including 38 for lack of bidders.

Three properties were postponed to correct their advertisements in Al-Shaab, Al-Qadisiyah and Sabah Al-Salem, while one was postponed for other reasons. Seven properties were canceled during the month. Five were canceled by decisions of the competent authority, while two were officially canceled following settlements between the parties involved in the respective cases. The canceled properties were located in Al-Waha and Sabah Al-Ahmad residential areas.

The September results underline the varied level of demand in Kuwait’s judicial property auctions, with a relatively small proportion of listed properties completing sales while a significant number were carried forward due to insufficient bidding or administrative and legal developments.
