Kuwait Health Minister issues decisions on updating anti-drug lists
Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, issued on Saturday, new decisions to update the schedules against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by inserting new items, in line with their legal categories.
The move aims to ensure controlling pharmaceutical markets and protecting society from misusing such drugs, the ministry said in a press release on Saturday.
The decrees are compatible with ongoing efforts aiming to boost censorship regarding taking narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, it added.
Such a step also shows keenness on keeping pace with the latest scientific developments and legislations in this field, it noted.
The decision N. 29/ 2025 includes adding “Promethazine” to the schedule No 1 of Law N. 74 of 1983, it elaborated.
The decision No. 30 of 2025 contains the insertion of some items like “Chloromethcathinone and Fluorodischloroketamine”, and their derivatives to the schedule No 2 of Law. No 45/1987.
The ministry affirmed its permanent eagerness to update laws and regulations of drugs control in a manner that ensures achieving the utmost safety and public health standards, it said.
