Kuwait enforces nationality laws, revokes 476 citizenship cases

The Ministry of Interior announced in a press statement that the committee has revoked Kuwaiti citizenship in 13 cases of dual nationality, in accordance with Article (11) of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.

The statement further mentioned that the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship certificates under Article 21 bis A of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments in 443 cases due to fraud, false statements (forgery), and those who may have obtained citizenship through affiliation with them.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted that the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship under Article 13, Paragraph 4 of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments in three cases for reasons deemed to be in the country’s highest interest.

The committee also decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship under Article 13, Paragraph 2 of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments in 16 cases involving crimes against honor and integrity. These include two cases from the 1965 census campaign, four cases of sons of Kuwaiti women, two cases of noble deeds, and eight cases of sons of naturalized citizens.

Moreover, the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship under Article 14, Paragraph 3 of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments in one case for undermining loyalty to the country.
