Kuwait denounces ‘dangerous escalation’ after Iranian attacks target civilian areas, vital facilities
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the State of Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the criminal Iranian attacks that targeted the territory of the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones, in a dangerous escalation and flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait, its security, and the integrity of its lands, and a direct threat to the lives of civilians and vital facilities.
The Ministry affirms that this escalation comes at a time when earnest efforts are being exerted by a number of brotherly and friendly countries to reduce tensions, de-escalate, and spare the region further escalation, which amplifies the gravity of these attacks and undermines diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving regional security and stability.
It demands that Iran immediately and unconditionally cease these criminal attacks, and holds it fully responsible for them, given their representation of a brazen aggression against the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait, and a grave breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.
The Ministry emphasizes that the State of Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to preserve its security and defend its lands and vital facilities against any aggression or threat, pursuant to its inherent right to self-defense in accordance with Article (51) of the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law.
