MOI raids illegal Captagon factory, 2 arrested with 100,000 pills worth 500,000 dinars

As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and cut off supply sources, personnel from the Directorate-General for Drug Control have arrested, two bedoun men operating a facility for the production of psychotropic substances.
Security forces monitored the suspects’ criminal activity and gathered intelligence before raiding the site, which was used as a secret manufacturing location in the Kabd area.
During the raid, the suspects attempted to resist arrest in a desperate effort to escape but were swiftly overpowered by security personnel.
A search of the premises led to the seizure of 5 kilograms of raw Captagon powder, a tablet-pressing machine, a precision scale, and equipment used for packaging and distribution, along with a quantity of empty bags.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had hidden an additional large quantity of ready-to-distribute pills underground. Authorities later recovered approximately 100,000 Captagon pills, with an estimated market value exceeding KD 500,000.
The suspects, along with all seized items, have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing anyone attempting to undermine national security, stressing zero tolerance for drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
