Kuwait is expected to experience hot to very hot weather conditions through Saturday, accompanied by active northwesterly winds that may stir up dust and reduce visibility in some areas, according to the Meteorological Department.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department Dharar Al-Ali said weather maps and numerical models indicate that the country is currently under the influence of a low-pressure system combined with a hot, dry air mass, leading to a noticeable rise in temperatures across the country.
He explained that Friday’s weather will be hot during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging between 43°C and 45°C. Northwesterly winds will blow at light to moderate speeds, occasionally becoming active at 15 to 50 km/h, which may raise dust levels in open areas. Sea conditions are expected to be light to moderate, with waves reaching 2 to 6 feet at times.
Al-Ali added that nighttime conditions on Friday will be warm, with temperatures expected to drop to between 29°C and 31°C. Winds will remain northwesterly to northerly, ranging between 12 and 38 km/h, while sea conditions will stay relatively calm to moderate.
For Saturday, the weather is forecast to become even hotter, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 45°C to 47°C under continued influence of the hot air mass. Winds will remain northwesterly at light to moderate speeds, ranging between 12 and 40 km/h.
Saturday night will remain warm, with minimum temperatures expected between 31°C and 33°C.
Winds will shift between northwesterly and variable directions, remaining light to moderate at 8 to 28 km/h, with generally stable sea conditions.
The Meteorological Department advised caution, particularly for outdoor workers and motorists, due to reduced visibility caused by dust and high daytime temperatures.
