Kuwait bids farewell to winter tomorrow with arrival of Al-Humaimeen

The Al-Ajari Scientific Center announced that starting tomorrow, Saturday, Kuwait will bid farewell to winter and cold weather, with more moderate conditions ahead. Signs of spring are expected to begin appearing on plants.

The center mentioned in a statement that this weather change marks the beginning of the Hameem season, which will last until April 2nd. This season follows the Scorpion season and precedes the Dhiraan season.

The center pointed out that “Al-Hameem” is an annual season known for its weather fluctuations, often bringing about a state of atmospheric instability, with a mix of cold, heat, rain, and dust. This season sees a blend of spring and winter conditions, where dust is occasionally stirred up and scattered rain falls. It is also characterized by a gradual rise in temperatures, with its days featuring thunderstorms and cumulus clouds.

The Hameem season is divided into two parts: the first and second Hameem, often referred to as the ‘two Hamees.’ During this period, night and day are equal, coinciding with the spring equinox, which this year falls on March 20.

The equality of day and night coincides with the sun being perpendicular to the equator and beginning to ascend northward at this time, taking into account some minor differences in locations based on latitude.

Two main factors control the length of day and night: the sun’s inclination from the equator and geographical latitude. This state of equality occurs everywhere on Earth when the sun is directly over the equator. The further we are from the equator, the greater the difference in the length of day and night, as well as their variation.

With the onset of the Hameem season, the sun enters the summer period, marking the beginning, intensity, and eventual end of summer, with its start coinciding with the second Hameem.
