Kuwait’s Ambassador to India, H.E. Meshal Mustafa AlShemali, received the “Cloud of Hope” volunteer team during its humanitarian visit to India, aimed at providing healthcare, educational assistance and community support.
The 30-member team comprises volunteers from Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, including doctors, engineers, academics, educators and other specialists. During the visit, the volunteers undertook a range of medical, educational, relief and community initiatives benefiting hundreds of children, families and local residents.
The Ambassador commended the humanitarian and voluntary work undertaken by young people from Kuwait and other Gulf countries, describing the initiatives as a reflection of the values of compassion, generosity and social responsibility deeply rooted in Gulf societies.
He said such initiatives demonstrated the growing contribution of Gulf youth to international humanitarian action and helped strengthen people-to-people ties across borders. AlShemali noted that charitable and humanitarian work had long been an integral part of Kuwaiti society, with assistance reaching communities in different parts of the world without discrimination. “The spirit of generosity and solidarity remained firmly embedded in Kuwait’s social traditions.”
As part of the India visit, the “Cloud of Hope” team organized a voluntary medical camp that benefited around 400 people through medical examinations, consultations and health-awareness programs. The volunteers also distributed hundreds of school bags and educational supplies, besides food and essential items to vulnerable families and communities.
Educational and sports programs, along with interactive activities for children and students, formed another component of the initiative. The activities were designed to encourage self-confidence, teamwork and healthy competition. Sports equipment was also provided so that the programs could continue after the volunteers’ departure.
The India visit is part of the “Cloud of Hope” team’s wider record of international humanitarian service. The initiative, involving 30 volunteers from three Gulf countries and reaching hundreds of beneficiaries, seeks to promote cross-border volunteerism and humanitarian solidarity. The team’s message was summed up in its guiding theme: “Hope is a universal human language understood by all.”
