KPC CEO inspects refineries during Eid, commends workers and merger progress

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al-Saud conducted an inspection tour on Saturday of the Mina Al-Ahmadi, Mina Abdullah, and Al-Zour refineries. The visit took place during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, during which he extended his congratulations to refinery employees and reviewed the operational progress across the facilities.
According to a statement from the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Nawaf was accompanied by Hisham Al-Rifai, Managing Director for Human Resources and Comprehensive Services, and Bader Al-Attar, Managing Director for Planning and Finance, reports Al-Rai daily.
He was welcomed at the refineries by Wadha Al-Khatib, CEO of KNPC and Acting CEO of Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), along with other Deputy CEOs. Sheikh Nawaf praised the dedication of employees at both KNPC and KPC, conveying appreciation from Kuwait’s political leadership for their role in supporting the national economy through this vital sector.
During his remarks, Sheikh Nawaf underscored the importance of upholding health, safety, and environmental standards to protect workers and maintain operational excellence at the refineries. He reiterated that safety is a fundamental responsibility in ensuring the continued efficiency and success of refinery operations.
Wadha Al-Khatib echoed this sentiment, highlighting the consistent commitment of employees to safety and environmental stewardship. She applauded their resilience and ability to overcome challenges through innovation and responsible practices, all within a secure operational framework.
Al-Khatib also provided an update on the strategic merger between KNPC and KPC, stating that the process is progressing as planned. She affirmed that the integration will culminate in the formation of a unified entity, enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of Kuwait’s oil sector.
The visit served as both a gesture of appreciation and a reaffirmation of leadership’s commitment to the energy sector’s sustainable development and the well-being of its workforce.
