KFF activates comprehensive Muharram safety plan to secure Husseiniyas

The General Fire Force has announced the completion of its preparations for the month of Muharram, unveiling an integrated security and preventive plan aimed at securing Hussainiyas across various regions of the country and ensuring the safety of participants during religious commemorations.
Director of Public Relations and Media at the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, said the Central Operations Department has activated a wide-ranging field deployment strategy.
The plan includes the establishment of 15 rapid intervention points strategically located in areas expected to witness high visitor density across all governorates, in addition to 133 prevention sector points to enhance emergency response capabilities.
Al-Gharib explained in a statement to Al-Rai that the plan was implemented under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and under the supervision of the Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Talal Al-Roumi.
He said the force has raised its level of readiness across all fire stations, mobilising both human and technical resources to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and fire prevention throughout the mourning period.
He added that intensive inspection campaigns have been carried out at Husseiniyas to ensure compliance with safety requirements, including checks on emergency exits, fire prevention systems, and overall readiness of facilities. Technical reports have also been prepared to verify that all sites meet required safety standards before receiving visitors.
According to Al-Gharib, rapid intervention points have been equipped with modern vehicles, specialised equipment, and trained personnel to ensure swift response to emergencies around the clock, thereby strengthening field readiness throughout the observance period.
He further called on citizens and residents to cooperate with fire crews and adhere to preventive instructions, while praising the cooperation of Husseiniya administrators in implementing safety measures, which he said reflects a shared responsibility in protecting lives and property.
