U.S. President Donald Trump announced that an agreement has been reached with Iran, describing it as a significant breakthrough and congratulating all parties involved.

Trump said he had authorized the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping and approved the immediate lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, declaring, “World ships, turn on your engines. Let the oil flow.”

He added that he would soon deliver a formal statement outlining the details of the agreement and indicated that it could be signed electronically, either by him or Vice President J.D. Vance.

Iranian state television also announced a cessation of hostilities and confirmed that an agreement had been reached with the United States.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Trump said he was not interested in pursuing regime change in Iran and suggested that U.S. sanctions on Tehran could be lifted as part of the deal.

According to Trump, the agreement includes a commitment from Iran not to acquire nuclear weapons. He added that there is no immediate need to remove nuclear materials from Iran, noting that such steps could take place at a later stage.

Trump also claimed that Israel had delayed the agreement by several hours before it was finalized.
