Iran warns of response if UN sanctions reinstated, dismisses snapback mechanism

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated today that Tehran will respond firmly if UN sanctions are re-imposed through the snapback mechanism, which he said lacks legal legitimacy.
He argued that European nations have no standing to trigger the mechanism and that its activation would be invalid, reports Al-Rai daily.
Baghaei also clarified that no date or venue has been decided for resuming nuclear talks with the United States.
