The General Sports Authority announced on Friday the signing of a contract in partnership with the Gulf Football Federation with Laurel International Management, a company specialized in gate systems, electronic tickets, and organizing sports events.
This initiative has been undertaken to develop the ticket reservation system and electronic gate systems and organize the process of fans entering Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Al-Sulaibikhat Club Stadiums, during the period of hosting the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Championship (Gulf 26), as this contract comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to enhance the sports experience and improve stadium services.
The contract signed in partnership with the Gulf Football Association with Laurel Company came because of its extensive experience in this field and its participation in organizing a number of successful tournaments, including the 2022 World Cup, as well as the Asian Cup, the Gulf Cup, and the Arab Cup, all of which were held in Qatar.
It includes several important aspects aimed at providing an organized and easy experience for fans to enter the stadium, including managing the process of fans arriving at their designated seats in the stadium and dividing the fans’ seats into sectors.
The report added that the contract also includes the creation of a website dedicated to reservations to be the main platform for reserving and purchasing tickets for matches, allowing fans to purchase their tickets, which include the details of each ticket’s seat, easily and comfortably via the Internet. It also includes providing the printing of paper tickets and providing mobile payment devices to ensure the flexibility of the purchasing process.
The report pointed out that the contract includes the installation of 165 fixed ticket readers and the provision of manual ticket readers to ensure the smooth and fast entry process for fans distributed across Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Al-Sulaibikhat Club Stadium, and the installation of 62 new gates in the stadiums, including 24 single gates and 38 double gates, with the aim of improving the flow of fans and reducing waiting time.
26 new gates will be installed in Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, including 20 double gates for the public (the total number will be 100 gates for the public), three gates for the VIP area, and three other gates in the Sky Box area, while there will be 36 new gates in Al-Sulaibikhat Club Stadium, including 18 single gates and 18 double gates for the public (the total number will be 54 gates for the public).
The contract includes ongoing maintenance and technical support services for all devices and systems to ensure their continued efficient operation. The authority stated that it is working in accordance with the directives of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, to provide the best services to sports fans, noting that this step comes within its plans to develop organizational services and sports infrastructure in the country according to the highest international standards to make the experience of attending sports events smoother and more professional.
